Seoul, Korea (April 2017) II

18 April 2017 (Tuesday)

Went for the DMZ tour which I blogged in another post! So they dropped off at about 5pm at the City Hall area and it was still drizzling a little bit.

I walked through the underground and found my way to Lotte Duty Free to buy a couple of stuff before heading to Namsan Tower. Reached at about 7pm and the sun was about to set! Went up the observatory tower but we couldn't get to see much because it was so foggy and all. The view was better below. But my film camera captured the pictures better at night than my iPhone HAHA

Went back to Myeongdong and had street food for dinner!

Shopped for a little bit and I bought a new shoe hehehe. It was comfy!! Took the bus back afterwards.

 

We stayed just somewhere behind the Seoul Central Market at Sindang?

 Yeah right next to this mama store. I went in and got myself an ice-cream. It looked really old school though and the uncle was watching the tele through the box television set HAHA

Yesung had a live on that day too! It was his solo album comeback. All the songs inside were so good I swear. I love this album of his!! Went to buy his album the next day when it got released!!!!!!!!

19 April 2017 (Wednesday)

So we booked this day tour thing because it was really inconvenient having to travel to The Petite France, Nami Island and Gangchon Railway Bike area.

We started the day waiting for the guide to come at Dongdaemun History & Culture Park Station. Our guide was really good. Anyway the guide basically just buy for you the ticket but he won't follow you in. Then he will just give you a timing to meet at the bus after you are done before heading to the next place (but we were always done before the timing so we just go back to the bus to rest).

So the tour was actually just having a bus to bring you to your destination and for someone to help you get tickets. I think we benefit the most from the Railway Bike 'cause if we were to go alone it would have been a little confusing to get the tickets and board the ride 'cause there were so many Koreans hahahah.

Petite France

Only want to come here 'cause of all the dramas and variety shows having filmed here before. Hahahaha. Especially Secret Garden and Running Man!!

The scenery was quite beautiful from the top hehehe.

Nami Island

Had to board a ferry that brings you to the Island. The only reason why I want to come here is because of Winter Sonata!!!!!! There's like one of the first Korean drama I ever watched when I was like 8 years old or something?? Was it the Autumn one first with Song Hye Kyo or this though. I can't remember but yes Winter Sonata = Nami Island. But okay I guess it would look much better in Winter hahahaha.

Our lunch was so good hahahaha.

So we went to ride the duck 'cause there was time left.

Tried this at the convenience store after we left Nami Island and was waiting for the bus at the area after you alight from the ferry. Wasn't so nice tho. It was kind of soft.

Gangchon Railway Bike

Final stop of the day before heading back to Seoul. This reminds me so much of Monday Couple hahaha. The view was so good 'cause ours was the last ride of the day and the sun was just about to set! Heheh.

They stopped us off at some point and we had to take a really cute train to the exit point. Our bus picked us up from there and then drove us back to Seoul (It took about 1-2 hours?). Dropped us off at the same place they picked us from.

Hi Kyuhyun

Walked around Dongdaemun Design Plaza area before heading to Myeongdong afterwards but we went separate ways there 'cause I went to change money and then search for Yesung's new album (IT WAS RELEASED ON 18 APRIL).

I already listened to the songs while on the bus ride back to Seoul though.

YAS YAS YAS I FOUND HIS ALBUM. Can't believe I got an album of my idol on the week of release at the country itself omg hehehehe. We left on Friday so it was impossible for me to go to KBS to wait for him at Music Bank hahahaha. Okay gonna stop being such a fangirl...

Cheonggyecheon Stream

Then I decided to go back to DDP area and find my Cheonggyecheon Stream!! Plugged in my earphones all the way listening to Yesung's latest album while holding the album in my hands.

Watched so many dramas since I was young and I've seen this stream multiple times. I didn't know the stream was so long though. It's endless. I don't even think I went to the main area of the stream because it was so secluded. But it was a good walk under the night sky. I walked all the way back to our apartment!! Walked through some shopping districts which was already closed, but all the elderly were like carrying bags and bags of clothes preparing to sell the next day.

Bought fishcakes on the way back cause I haven't had dinner hehe.

20 April 2017 (Thursday)

Ewha University

Finally a day that I don't have to wake up early. We started the day by going to Ewha University!

This wasn't that good though it was highly raved...

The university seems so pretty from afar?? Feels so much like BOF! So we went to shop and I bought some clothes from here. So far it's the best place to shop at? We had some chinese steamboat for lunch before going back to put our stuff before heading out again.

We went to the Express Bus Terminal underground shopping mall before having ramyeon at the convenience store. Woah there are a lot of students having their dinner alone at the convenience stall. Just what you see in Korean dramas just a bit more people.

Banpo Bridge Rainbow Fountain

It's a walking distance from the express bus terminal station but it takes about 20-30minutes to get there. It's another part of Hangang River hahaha. The sun was setting and it was so beautiful omg.

Waited till the light show comes up. It wasn't as expected but it was still pretty!

Went to the e mart near our apartment (but not so near too) to get some food before heading back to pack.

 Oh I got Starbucks too! My usual white mocha HAHAHA. The area was kind of nice though the walk there was quite ulu and scary. There were a lot of food around and the weather was so good and cold...

Bought this Kakao drink. I thought I could finish but I ended up not finishing one packet HAHA. Too cute to resist and it was in my favourite flavours. The coffee milk was a little weird tho.

21 April 2017 (Friday)

Last day in Korea! We stored our luggages in the owner's car before heading to Myeongdong till about 4-5pm before departing for the airport.

Had my Sulbing which was not bad!? But I couldn't finish it 'cause it was too much for myself hahaha.

Stylenanda Pink Hotel

That's about it for Seoul and Busan. Shopping was great but I guess I won't shop that much the next time I come here 'cause there's so much more sight-seeing I would rather do than shop hahah.

 We took a cab to where the Airport Shuttle was and waited for the airport shuttle there. Had to top up our cards 'cause it isn't free.

 Yesung on live again!! Heheh. So lucky to have been there during his comeback. I would have gone to KBS if it weren't for me leaving on the same day as Mubank :(

Overall I still prefer Busan 'cause I'm totally not a city person. Like how I really hate Tokyo (except for the museums and theme parks) HAHA.

Can't believe I finally step into this country after being crazy over my dramas and idols since like 2004? Hehehe. Honestly, Japan is 10x more beautiful and dreamy than Korea. What you see on TV is what you get but not so much for Korea.

Perhaps that's why I haven't had the urge to come here till now even though I've been a crazy fan of Koreans for more than a decade. But there's still so many places for me to explore the next time I come here perhaps a few years later.
