Melbourne, Victoria, Australia (November 2017)

Okay, so I booked the trip to Melbourne immediately after tending my resignation (when it wasn't even confirmed). Wasn't even sure what was I going to do for 12 days in Melbourne.

Started planning a short trip to Sydney, then Canberra but I ended up in Gold Coast. hahahaha.

Basically I just chilled at her house and cleared out my thoughts during the time in Melbourne. Ate whenever and whatever I felt like, mostly Asian food in a Western country but it's alright, I just do whatever I like.

2 November 2017 (Thursday)

Didn't really have any plans in Melbourne 'cause I have already been here once. This post is just roughly whatever I have been doing there but I can't really remember all (I'm only posting this at the end of 2018, that's like a year later).

On the first day, I landed at about 11am and she was still asleep. She came to fetch me at Southern Cross Station at about 1pm and we took an uber back to her apartment.
After putting down my luggage and resting for awhile, we went to have Ramen nearby and then she brought me to walk around the University of Melbourne where she's studying at. We then walked down to CBD area as she go get her daily fix of coffee.

Went back to her apartment to chill and watch some shows before her friends decided to go and cook dinner. It was getting cold by then and we walked to the asian supermarket to get some groceries back home.
Sunset while having dinner. Don't really have much pictures taken during this trip. There's probably some on my instastories.

Pidapipo

Watched some shows again till it got really late at about 9pm or something before we walked to Pidapipo to get some ice-cream. Oh gosh I kept having coffee ice-cream but their ice-cream really tastes so good :-(

3 November 2017 (Friday)

Uber-red to Lune Croissant after I woke up from my sleep at about 8am or something I can't remember.

Lune Croissanterie
Fitzroy / Smith Street

Visited some vintage stores and just stroll around the area there before we headed to Messina 'cause it only opened at 11am or something? The streets were kind of empty so it's like we were the only ones walking.
Gelato Messina
I prefer Pidapipo over this. HAHA.

Melbourne Museum

Afternoon plans was to visit the Melbourne Museum 'cause I wanted to take a look at the World War exhibition there. It was the exam period so there were quite a lot of people outside the Royal Exhibition Building.
Royal Exhibition Building

It started drizzling when we were at the Royal Exhibition Building. Sigh. It's always gloomy wherever I go.

The Paperback Books

We ate lunch at some random store selling Japanese nearby at town area before walking a little while more and I packed some beef bowl back for dinner 'cause I'm too lazy to head out for dinner at night.
4 November 2017 (Saturday)

Okay, I'm in Australia after all so I have got to at least try some cafe food so we went to Higher Ground in the morning at about 10:30am. Queued for about an hour and it was freezing so bad man.

Higher Ground
We went to the factory outlet opposite to shop a little before heading to DFO to continue shopping. We really walked a lot man. We then walk one round all the way back to town area and had army stew before heading back.
There was like some protest going on.

Literally shopped, walk, and eat the entire day till like evening by the time we got back.

5 November 2017 (Sunday)

Lunch at Mekong with Linnette's friend 'cause she brought me to their church there for mass at about 1pm. Linnette came to meet me after it ended and we went to the Royal Arcade to get some macarons and headed to DIYMocks to browse at their books there.
Christmasy spirit at the bookstore!!

Walked over to the Art Gallery 'cause there's a flea outside on Sundays. Bought some really nice scented candles there which I regretted not getting more.
National Gallery of Victoria

Wanted to view the Dior Exhibition but it was quite pricely so we just hung around the free exhibition zones.

Shrine of Remembrance

This was the main attraction that I wanted to go 'cause I haven't come here the previous time.
Pidapipo

We took the tram all the way down and went to Pidapipo to get my ice-cream fix and got stucked at the bookstore next to it for an hour or so. We were trying to kill time while waiting for the restaurant we wanted to go for dinner to open.

Il Cantuccio

The place really look like a place that came out of Harry Potter!! It was at Lygon Alley but it seems like I was at Diagon Alley instead hahaha.
The portion of the pasta was so huge but the meatballs were so tasty! It was quite pricey but okay, it was worth the experience and ambience there hehe.

By the time we came out it was already dark so we headed home.

11 November 2017 (Saturday)

Woke up to watch Knowing Bros cause Super Junior was the guest I think. Ate the cake Linnette got me when I was away while watching.
We then headed to Queen Victoria Market for my last minute shopping, also snacks shopping. Got a bunch of Vitamins too.
The weather went up that day 'cause summer was arriving really soon and I wore this out walking about Melbourne HAHAHAHA.
Went back after a couple of hours to pack my luggage and etc before we went for dinner at Chop Shop Korea. Oh my gosh the KBBQ there is legit!! The Kimchi soup too. The place's aesthetics is also 100.

Chop Shop Korea
We went for a stroll after eating and then slowly headed back home.

12 November 2017 (Sunday)

South Melbourne Market with Linnette and her friend Maxine in the morning. The pastries and paella there was really nice. Went there mainly to get plates too, they were so cheap and cute!! Regretted not getting more but I had no idea how to bring them back either.

South Melbourne Market
Headed to the factory outlet after the market again and we shopped a little there before leaving for home. Went back to chill for a couple of hours before I went for mass alone.

Met Linnette for my last meal in Melbourne at Mekong after mass. Hahaha. Vietnamese for my last meal oh my but it was so good okay.

13 November 2017 (Monday)

Booked the Starbus from her apartment to the airport which was really convenient. I think I left at about 8am or something. Went to the airport to have lunch at some random restaurant before entering the departure hall and wait for my flight back.

These are my loots from Melbourne and Gold Coast. Didn't buy much, just lots of snacks cause their snacks are legit.
