23 September 2016 (Friday)
I only brought my film camera along for this trip but I'm not going to post my films in this post. Perhaps I'll dedicate a post just for my favourite films in the future! Anyway this was quite an impromptu trip with my cousin. It ended up being quite bad because disastrous things kept on happening to me. But it's been 3 months already and I guess thinking back, it's just so funny how all that can happen to me. Was I mad? Oh well, I'm glad everything's fine now and I'm still alive! Not going to talk about the bad things that has happened to me.
We took an afternoon flight and only arrived in the evening at about 7pm. I got a car for us and it brought us to the hotel. After checking in and getting out sim card and etc, we headed out to walk around and look for a place to have dinner at.
Hanoi pho! Okay, the ones at HCM is better but it's still nicer than the ones in Singapore!!
Dong Xuan market! We headed there again the next morning and went inside of it where there were many stalls (mostly wholesalers I guess). Nothing much to shop there.
24 September 2016 (Saturday)
It was drizzling in the morning, and we went to Dong Xuan market. Afterwards we walked around random places just watching their local doing their thing in the morning and soaking ourselves in their culture.
This bingsu is so good! The condensed milk is already mixed inside already so it blended better than the ones that you have to pour yourself. Sadly, we only had it once.
Booked tickets for their Water Puppet show since we didn't know what to do anyway but there's only one show timing that's at 6:30pm. We walked around that area for awhile and wow on Saturdays the streets were closed and the children were all playing different games by the street. It was so interesting to watch, and everyone seemed so happy. They play tug-of-war, five stones, pick-up sticks (just games that we used to play when we were young) and many more that I haven't seen before.
This slipper thing looked really funny. Hahahah. I took a load more of photos but it's in film. Anyway we decided to go for a full-body massage. When it ended we came out to a heavy downpour. Managed to get ourselves to a restaurant and I had pho again.
Went back to the hotel to rest since it was raining and only came out at about 4pm after a nap. Time really go by so slowly over there. We found a place to have some bbq and it ended up raining till it was flooding till knee level.
Anyway the bbq was so bad! Their marinated meat was just soaked in butter!? It was so buttery and oily oh my god. The service was so slow too, we waited so long for them to get our stove and etc.
The water puppet show was interesting at how smooth their puppets moved. I kept wondering how they did it, and at the end of the shows the people controlling the carpet just came out from the back with half of them soaking wet.
I love this milo ice-cream stick so much that I eat it like 2-3 times a day... HAHAHA.

26 September 2016 (Monday)
So it was the last day in Hanoi and we just came back from Sapa so we changed hotel. This was like a 4/5 star hotel and it was really nice. You cannot get to stay in such place for such an affordable price normally. The hotels over there are all really cheap!
27 September 2016 (Tuesday)
Yeah so that's the end of my trip. Don't really have much to say but it was really interesting seeing the sights of the locals living their daily lives. Street performances and also many other things. It's just a short getaway and even though it was bad I guess it taught me quite a lot in the end. I love how we gain new insights from every trip, or anything we do in life.
