Taipei, Taiwan (November 2018)

Been exactly a year since my last plane ride. I guess I can't go through a year without at least a trip overseas. This is already my third time travelling to Taipei.

There was some time before the flight so we headed to T3 cause I wanted to see the Harry Potter Display!! After heading in the departure hall at T2, there's this counter which we almost missed and they were selling the merchandises! So I got myself two new 2-in-1 neck pillow at $10 each :-)

We took a midnight flight and arrived early Sunday morning. Stayed at CityInn Taipei Main Station Branch III this time round and the place was really nice.

Fu Hang Soy Milk

Haven't got to try this Soy Milk although I have been to Taipei twice before this trip. Finally made a trip down in the early morning at around 8am but it was already so crowded. Didn't expect the queue to be this long! Queued for almost 45 minutes before our turn and the food was really not bad. But I think Yong He is quite on par with this and I prefer the soy milk there!

Went to meet Xavier at about 10-11am and we went to Party World at Ximending to sing K for about 2 hours before leaving for Wufenpu for my favourite Meesua. Haven't tried singing K in taiwan before and the room was so big! Okay, it's just like China's one except that it's cleaner here.

Went back to the hotel to crash for a couple of hours from 3pm before we left for the night market.

Shilin Night Market

Came here just to grab the same old food that I ate the previous time and also tried a couple of new stuff. Didn't take pictures of all the stuff I ate cause I just stuffed some into my mouth.

Actually packed this back but by the time it reached Taipei Main Station it was soggy so we just sat outside the station to eat. It wasn't that nice after being soggy so we threw them away. Guess it's better to just have it immediately.

Was kind of hungry at about midnight so we went down to the 7-11 opposite to get cup noodles. It was cold and drizzling at that time.

26 November 2018 (Monday)

Our plans were all messed up 'cause the first day was so tiring due to the lack of sleep that we woke up rather late at about 10am or so. Decided to bring Tuesday plans forward and head to Shifen & Pingxi. And yes, it's my third time here but I haven't visited that area.

Stopped by this cafe on the way to Taipei Main Station.

I couldn't get tickets for the express train cause we had to wait till 1pm+ so we took this train instead. But thankfully it was pretty empty! The weather was so gloomy and it ended up raining heavily in the afternoon and drizzled the whole evening. But it was a good weather at least, rather than it being hot.

Ruifang Station

Stopped by the Ruifang Food Court or something and had some food there. I later spotted a beef noodles store and went to get a small bowl for myself!

Fu Ge Beef Noodles 福哥牛肉麵

The soup's surprisingly good! But I didn't really like the noodle texture. We stopped by a fruit tea shop to get some drinks cause it was pouring afterwards. Waited for awhile before walking back to Ruifang Station.

Shifen

Fell asleep on the way to Shifen. I wanted to go to the Jingtong first but thankfully we stopped here first 'cause it was getting dark already by the time we left this place later on. Didn't even had time to go to Jingtong in the end because it was getting dark :-(

Anyway, it was drizzling when we arrived there. Thankfully I brought my umbrella! We walked to Shifen Waterfall 'cause I didn't see a point in taking a cab or something. I realised that even after arriving at that point, you still have to climb many steps and bridges to head to the waterfall.

But it was nice walking to the waterfall! The whole area's really scenic and the air is so fresh!! My sensitive nose unblocked there and oh gawd I just realise our nose are meant for like nature. So it's not my nose problem but the city pollution that is harming my nose :-(

Stopped by to play this and we redeemed this 2 items below. I didn't know the chewing gum was like a cockroach scare thing at first until the next day?? HAHAHAHA.

Rushed for the train to Pingxi and it was so empty and cold in the train.

Pingxi

My only reason for visiting this place is because of 那些年 but it turned out to be a really small town and it was already getting dark when we arrived here so we only stayed for 20minutes before rushing for the train all the way back to Ruifang.

Keelung Night Market

So we took a bus from Ruifang > Keelung and then walked all the way to the Night Market!!

Found this garlic bread store on the way while walking to the night market and it was a really good random find!! We thought they are just selling us one piece cause it was super cheap but it turned out to be like one big packet with 3 whole loafs sliced.

Finally arrived at the night market and I really like this night market because there are seats at every stall.

We then took an express bus at the Keelung Bus Station all the way back to Taipei Main Station. It was a really comfortable ride. It was so cold when we arrived at the main station though. 17 degrees?

27 November 2018 (Tuesday)

Bopiliao Historical Street

Supposed to visit this place on the first day but I was too tired so I shifted it till this day. Visited this place cause apparently it was built during the Qing Dynasty which I was studying about this semester.

Ximending

Went shopping the whole afternoon and caught some toys too!

Had my Yong He Soy Milk fix hehehe. There wasn't any queue at around noon.

Yong Kang Beef Noodles

The soup was really not bad but it was quite expensive.

28 November 2018 (Wednesday)

Checked out from the hotel at noon and left the luggage at the lobby 'cause our flight was at midnight again. Booked a reservation for Elixir Hotpot before the trip and so we headed there immediately after checking out!

Elixir Hotpot 無老鍋

One of the best steamboat I ever had in my life. The soup was so tasty!! The Mala soup is so drinkable too.

Sisinancun 四四南村

Went to Sisinancun afterwards. Didn't know this place existed just opposite the Taipei World Trade Center area!! It was kind of hidden by the adidas basketball court.

It was a really nice and cozy place and the whole area was so cute!!

We walked to Ichiran Ramen afterwards to get my ramen fix. The walk there was really breezy and cold. Stopped by Krispy Kreme for awhile and walked around the CBD area before arriving at Ichiran Ramen.

I finished a bowl of ramen within 10 minutes and ordered an extra bowl of noodles HAHA

We headed to Ximending for the last round of shopping and I bought a pair of shoes there before we went back to Taipei Main Station and waited for time to fly :-)

Chunshuitang 春水堂

That's the end of my Taipei 4D3N trip! It was a really short getaway but the weather was really damn shiok 'cause winter is coming. 17 degrees to 22 degrees throughout the trip. Just satisfying some food cravings here, escaping from the heat in Singapore and yeah that's about it! Can't wait for my next trip to Taiwan but I'll probably be visiting the other side of Taiwan hehe.
