First ever school trip 'cause I hate going on holiday with restrictions but anyway got mind fucked and so I ended up in Guangzhou with about 17 other students? Cannot really remember but I intended to go on this trip with Shimin so that we can group together and do a project together but I ended up doing the Guangzhou Light Festival 2015 project so I ended up grouping with Craig woohoo. *rolls eye* But we still went together anyway since we will be staying together except when the other students goes to school, I might not go with them 'cause I'm just so lonely and sad.
A total of 21 days away from home but one of the weekend was spent in Hong Kong for a weekend trip since Hong Kong is only a train ride away from Guangzhou.
Arrived at Guangzhou Airport and all the groupmates of my coursemates came to fetch them and I'm just alone...
Went on a bus ride to the island of Universities and stayed at the hostel in that area. Just the first day of the trip and it started drizzling and it was so cold. I thought it would be like that everyday but no!? The next day it became quite warm, till the last day of the trip the temperature dropped again. Maybe it's to welcome us and eventually say goodbye to us. But the weather is bearable of course since its 20-25degree everyday? And it gets colder and windier every night!
Not going to write about every single thing that happened for the 3 weeks but just roughly some of it, not gonna be in chronological order either. Anyway my roommate is Shimin (duh?) and we stayed together with Charlene & Abigail at 603 hahaha. First day was just buying all the daily necessities and SIM card and familiarising with the place.

The second day was a Monday so I followed the rest to tour the school and such in the morning.
This became our daily breakfast at the street vendors that we have to pass by when walking to school hahaha
10-15 minutes walk to school from the hostel. Anyway we walked around the school, not every part though but just briefly. Then we went to the room where everyone is going to be on every weekday except Wed. They started introducing themselves and I don't have to thankfully because I hate such things so perhaps it's a good thing to be out. They started their discussions and all and I just did my own stuff on my laptop. So I have this sofa that is next to Shimin group so every time when I have no where to go, I would be at the classroom doing my work and falling asleep on that sofa because it's so comfortable and the classroom is super dark??
Anyway I forgot which day it was when I go to eat fish with all the lecturers and met 胡老师 for the first time，the lecturer that I'm working with. That fish steamboat was so good and filling. Then he brought us to his cafe afterwards for a discussion and ok I had the worst mosquito bite experience ever there. My entire first week was spent scratching. I went to buy an insect repellant immediately the next day and it was damn good omg. He took us for a drive around the whole area after that because there's still time left before the welcome dinner.

So I think it was the second Wednesday and I had to go learn some stuff from a graduating student named 建文 and he only took like 20minutes or so to explain to me and decided to bring me round the school and give me a tour. So he brought me to some of the stairs lobby and showed me his drawings on the wall which the students always vandalize and then it got painted away which I find it such a waste since they were all so nice.
Then he told me to peep through the door where there's the rooftop and I love rooftops so much so he found an entrance and brought me in hahaha. The rooftop’s filled with graffitis all done by students so they decided to lock all the doors and not let anyone in but apparently if you try hard enough, there's a door that’s open! Anyway I went up there again on some other night and the night view was so much better omg and the wind up there is so soothing.

That's the area we live in so there's a shopping mall nearby with the supermarket and all the entertainment stuff. So on some nights we went there to shop and most of the time is probably to have dinner or whatever.
So on 4-5 nights we went to sing K cause the K there is freaking cheap and the room is quite big especially when there's 10-15 people.
I think we ate at this cafe cause the interior looked nice and all but the food was just so-so. It's called 飞屋 if I'm not wrong.

Go Go Shopping Mall
Some random day going to a random mall with Craig and some of my other course mates on a Saturday when my friends all went to the amusement park but luckily I didn't go cause they said it was boring and I didn't feel like it anyway. But yay I won my first kiap-kiap there! It's crayon shin-chan hahaha! Anyway my friends and I became kiap-kiap siao cause it was mostly 100元 which is SGD 0.20! Most expensive would be only 200元 I can't really remember so Shimin found her talent in catching and she caught like about 10 or so for the whole trip and I took half HAHAHA and also cause I see her kiaping and it was addicting to watch too so I sponsored all my small change.
Anyway I think I came here again another day and had KBBQ? Yay free treat too!
Guangzhou City 广州城市
Only went to the city thrice and the first time the main aim was to find a bookstore hahaha like how can I come China without going to a Chinese bookstore right?! Okay anyway we found one at 太古汇 and I bought a few there then we went shopping around that area and saw another bookstore that is so any stories high!!! But the guard stop us from entering cause it's closing sigh but we went there again another day with my friends! There's also this Fashion underground district that we found on the other time we went to the city and oh my gosh I have no idea why nobody told us about it cause it's like a paradise hahaha.

Went to the land of mosquitos again this time with everyone else. Barbecued and drink followed by going to sing K with some of them before going back.
Baishuizhai 白水寨
So on the last day before we had to fly back we woke up early with some of my friends too and decided to go find this place call 白水寨. Took a train down to the station that we went when going to Hong Kong. After a complex trip there, the bus that's going there might or might not bring us there cause we need to change 2 more buses. I don't know why but I didn't want to leave Guangzhou without seeing any nature… So I decided to go with Craig and Shimin came along too while the rest decided to go back and we met at night for dinner in the city.
So yes after much effort we landed ourselves there! Ate lunch first before climbing up. I literally had my worst leg trembling experience there HAHA. Anyway we climbed 3999 steps and couldn't go up further cause it was already 4 plus and it's going to close not to forget we have to get down!! Took a super long bus ride that brought us somewhere near the city then we took a cab down to the city??

Time to go back!! Woke up early in the morning and the weather was cold again. Took pictures on the empty street with my housemates before we head back to get our luggages down. We were being crazy in the middle of the road with that crazy wind.
Guess this marks the end of my three weeks in Guangzhou, China.
